Pursuing Accreditation: Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology

PHSU St. Louis notified APA that it will be seeking intent to apply for accreditation status in 2019, the first step in the multi-year accreditation process. In 2023, PHSU St. Louis submitted their self-study and began the official application for accreditation. While we are confident in our program, we make no guarantees about the outcome of this process. The 5-year PsyD program is training a new generation of mental health professionals prepared to take on real-world challenges in diverse clinical settings.

PHSU St. Louis is dedicated to giving our students the opportunities they need to gain hands-on experience in their field and advance their careers in healthcare. Below are the agreements we have in place to give students that experience, sorted by program.

MSMS Linkage Opportunities

AT Still Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine
We have agreements for the DO and DDS (dental medicine) programs. MSMS students need at least 3.3 GPA in the MSMS program, shadowing hours with a DO (which we can help you earn), and a 500 MCAT.

PsyD Clinical Opportunities

Compass Health Network
Compass is a nonprofit that aims to improve the physical and emotional health through people they serve. Students will perform assessments and therapy under supervision with primarily an outpatient rural population.
University of Missouri-St. Louis Center for Behavioral Health
The Center for Behavioral Health is a nonprofit that’s partnered with several establishments in St. Louis to provide behavioral assessments, child and family therapy, adult therapy, couples counseling, and group therapy.
St. Louis Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center
The St. Louis Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center is a psychiatric hospital serving the St. Louis community for over 140 years. This facility provides high-quality inpatient psychiatric treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation services.
Casa de Salud
Casa de Salud extends PHSU St. Louis’s mission to bring quality physical and psychological care to the people who currently lack access to mental health resources. It was founded in 2010 with the goal to improve access to mental health care for the immigrant community in St. Louis, specifically uninsured Latino residents.
