Microlab Named to Honor the Late Dr. Seema Haridas
Students, faculty and family of the late Dr. Seem Haridas gathered at PHSU St. Louis to honor her memory August 20, 2024, nearly one year after her passing.
Dr. Seema Haridas joined the PHSU faculty in 2020 as an Associate Professor in the Department of Basic Sciences. She taught courses in the areas of Microbiology and Biochemistry for PHSU St. Louis and our partner institutions until her passing in 2023.
PHSU Faculty spoke about Dr. Haridas’ passion for teaching and dedication to her students. Her husband, Dr. Ravin Kodikara was on hand to help officially dedicate the Microbiology Lab in her name and unveil the plaque with her photo.
Prior to joining PHSU, Dr. Haridas taught at St. Charles Community College and Coastal Carolina Community College. She received her Master’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Mumbai and her Ph.D. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Oklahoma State University. She completed her post-doctoral research work in immunology at St. Louis University. Dr. Haridas published several research studies in Pediatric Research and was awarded the Net Research Doctoral Award and Women’s Faculty Council Award while at OSU.
