Our MS in Medical Sciences Students are Achievers.
For our Master of Science in Medical Sciences program, Ponce Health Sciences University St. Louis seeks out students with a bachelor’s in a health sciences field based on their academic achievements and desire to advance their careers. We actively admit applicants from backgrounds that are historically underrepresented in professional health schools that can, in turn, increase access to healthcare in the places that need it most.

MSMS Admission Requirements
The MSMS is an integrated, interdisciplinary program in the basic medical sciences, designed to train students in a broad-based program, to help them reach a professional health program or start their career in healthcare.
- A minimum 2.7 overall GPA and science GPA on a 4.0 scale in undergraduate courses.
- A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university is required that includes the following coursework:

MSMS How To Apply
- Gather all necessary materials:
- Official transcripts from all institutions attended.
- These can be mailed or sent electronically, but they must be sent directly from the institution you attended PHSU St. Louis in order to be considered official transcripts. We cannot accept a transcript that has been forwarded by a student.
- Two letters of recommendation. (*Not required for MSMS Online Applicants.)
- One must be written by someone familiar with the applicant’s professional work and skills.

MSMS Admissions Policies
READMISSION
Ponce Health Sciences University St. Louis students dismissed from a program for academic reasons will not be readmitted to that program. No student will be readmitted to any program after dismissal for disciplinary reasons.
PHSU St. Louis will consider readmission for students who voluntarily withdrew from the program for medical or personal reasons and were in good standing or satisfactory academic progress at the time of the withdrawal.
The application for readmission will be submitted to the Admissions Office. Applicants must meet all requirements at the time of application for readmission. After evaluation by the Admission Committee, the candidate may be:
- Denied readmission
- Admitted and one of the following:
- Required to re-enter the first-year class
- Required to repeat incomplete (I) courses
- Allowed full credit for work completed
- Transfer some credits to a different program
- Other considerations.
A student readmitted to any program must abide by the curricular requirements and the rules and regulations in effect at the time of readmission.
TRANSFERRING CREDITS
For the Master of Sciences in Medical Sciences program, students admitted to the program are not eligible to transfer credits from courses taken at other higher education institutions before taking the MSMS. This is due to the nature of our student analytics, where each class matters.
